Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first single, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music online in 2012 when she released the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014 she continued to upload her music via the internet, including her self released single Bound. The 21st day of July, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes song Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. Then, later in the year, her music was circulating around Dreamville. Then, in December of 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna was contracted to Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was released, followed by a music video September. On November 9 she dropped two more singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. She then released on the 13th of November two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16th, and made the track available as a solo single to the album she released her debut. The track was made available with a video on YouTube on February 20, 2019, has been viewed over 3 million times within the first seven days. In December 2018 she was an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
